INTO THE SIXTIES......UPDATED GARAGE

This house was first produced in 1964 and sold for the enormous sum of $4.84! It came in three different styles, with and without a wing. This house was featured in the 1973 Eatons Christmas Catalog. Despite the updated interior, the house is shown with Traditional furniture.  Another version with no bay window and non moveable windows was featured in the 1966 JCPenney Christmas Catalog. Note all of the beautiful "wrought iron" garage posts and the horse head posts and chain along the front walkway. The "wrought iron" garage and horse head posts and chain also came in white version. Another interesting variation to this house was the house with a rec room where the carport usually was.  Click here to view that house.

The house came with at least two different interiors.  The Tin Soldier nursery motif, used the 1/2" Traditional furniture.  The more updated interior with the second bedroom used the French Provincial Furniture, which by the way is much harder to find.   My house has the updated style with the second bedroom and therefore has the French Provencal furniture style.

MORE IMPROVEMENTS

Another change was the fact that the windows were now made of plastic and could be opened and closed. Cool!

And just look at that wonderful white plastic chimney instead of the usual on the roof tin one.

FURNITURE

Depending on the interior of this house, it would come with different styles of furniture. For the more modern two bedroom house shown left, the 1/2" French Provencal was used.
