Momoko first hit the fashion doll scene on August 11, 2001. The concept for Momoko was born in March, 2001 when Keisuke Sawada made the first prototype. The first Momokos were DHEXs with short cropped black hair and DHEXl with long wavy blonde hair. They were limited to 125 pieces each. The DHEX dolls also came in 18 styles of extremely limited outfits(click here to see them)made by the Left Wing(LW) company.
In August 2001 the sale began of the first Momoko dolls. The dolls were debuted and sold at the DollHead Exhibition, hence their stock name DHEX and one came with long hair and one with short hair so....DHEXl and DHEXs.
